R. C. and Dorothy Harris would often visit their property and clear some brush along the edge of the woods.  Dorothy loved having evergreen trees and shrubs planted on the property.  They felt a tool shed was needed somewhere on the property so all their yard tools would stay dry and safe.   The building of an 8x8 tool shed began on this site.  Soon the shed was three times bigger and after that, it became two stories high!  Obviously this was NOT a "tool shed".  It had evolved into their retirement home by the mid-70s.  By the way, a small tool shed was built in the back yard that remained nearly 50 years.
